17 Sep ebaY- Has had two days of ongoing search update problems due to scheduled down times. They have also removed the text search limitation, so all text in the description is now fully searchable again. This morning, due to problems coming back on line after their scheduled down time, ebaY lengthened the down time until 0700 AM PDT. Due to this down time they extended all auctions ending between 4AM and 8AM PDT by 24 hours, and have credited back the fees associated with those extended auctions. ebaY is also planning an upcoming maintenance on their credit card server. This will prevent access to add or change credit card information. They will post the time/date of this maintenance at some future date, and we will include the info in our TAGnotes.

18 Sep - ebaY- Has ongoing search update problems. The latest post 1AM ET, claimed that all title searches were current.

20- Sep - ebaY is going to have another un-regular scheduled down time on Wed 22 Sep between 00:00 and 04:00 all auctions ending Wed 22 Sep between 00:00 and 05:00 PDT will be extended 24 hours.

24 Sep - ebaY- May need an additional unregular maintenance downtime which they will take Sat morning 25 Sep 99. There is no time given yet, but if they use their normal procedure it will be from 00:00 03:00 PDT and will cause all auctions scheduled to end from 0000-0400 PDT to be extended 24 hours.

26 Sep - Well, first it was Sat morn, then they switched it to Sun morn, and now it seems as if it will REALLY be Mon Morning for ebaY latest unregular maintenance downtime. This still isnít absolutely definite, and there is no time given yet, but if they use their normal procedure it will be from 00:00 - 03:00 PDT and will cause all auctions scheduled to end from 0000-0400 PDT to be extended 24 hours. ebaY has also announced an experiment with regional item search, using Los Angeles, CA as the first test site. At least they have retracted their open invitation to buyers to visit YOUR home to pre-inspect items! Now it is the sellers OPTION.

27 Sep - Had an unregular scheduled maintenance on Mon morning from 00:00 - 04:00 PDT causing all auctions scheduled to end from 0000-0500PDT to be extended 24 hours. They are now scheduling ANOTHER unregular scheduled maintenance for Tuesday morning from 00:00 ñ 04:00 PDT causing all auctions scheduled to end from 0000-0500 PDT to be extended 24 hours.

20 Nov - will be down for an un-regularly scheduled maintenance Sunday 21 Nov between 01:00 PST and 05:00 PST. They will extend all auctions scheduled to end between 0100 and 0600 on Sunday, by 24 hours.

28 Sep - All auctions scheduled to end from 0000-0500 PDT on Tuesday were extended 24 hours, as predicted yesterday. Indexing is running about 3 hours behind, which means new listings will have a delay of several hours before they show in search. They are also about 8 hours behind on end of auction notices and daily status reports. 1Oct - Had a bug show up in their Mister Lister bulk loading utility, but were able to correct it five hours after it was reported. They have published the October issue of their monthly newsletter, which can be found at this URL
